   Lucheng Digital Economy Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Wenzhou, China, is going to kick off on June 20, 2022. The competition focuses on digital economy industries and applications such as cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, industrial Internet, blockchain, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Through the most complete mechanism of "attracting talents by competition" and "replacing evaluation by competition", the most efficient government service support, and widely distributed "competition invitations" at home and abroad, the program aims to attract a batch of entrepreneurship projects by high-level talents with core competitiveness and high growth potential, and promote the creation of the main window for talent innovation and entrepreneurship in southern Zhejiang.

    The competition is from June to October, the schedule of which includes project selection, project review, project optimization, communication and research, final award ceremony, and so on. The competition expert jury consists of experts, professional investors, and innovative and entrepreneurial experts in the digital economy field, to comprehensively review the business model, market strategy, management team, financial risks and control, and development prospects and planning of projects and make suggestions for optimization.

    The competition is hosted by the Lucheng District Committee and the People's Government of Lucheng District of Wenzhou, China.

Award and Funding Possibilities

    The competition will eventually have 3 first prizes, 5-second prizes, and 10 third prizes, which will be awarded 14,888 USD, 7,444 USD, and 4,466 USD respectively. If the award-winning project is transformed and lands in Lucheng, it will be given 446,649 USD, 29 7,766, or 148,883 USD of start-up funding in accordance with the lending agreement. At the same time, it can receive up to 1,488,830 USD of entrepreneurial R&D investment rewards, 1,488,830 USD of entrepreneurial interest-deducted loan, and entrepreneurial insurance with a maximum of 1,488,830 USD/year. The winners of the competition are preferred to declare the major talent project of Wenzhou. They can flexibly choose a preferential policy on housing security for talents: 1,488-7,444 USD rental subsidy, or 30% discount on the rental housing, or a 5-7% discount on the housing for sale. At the same time, they can enjoy the "gift package" of support such as barrier-free settlement, children's schooling, family employment, talent coffee, health check-up, etc.

    In addition to awards and policy support, the organizing committee will also work with professional service organizations such as Zhongguancun Information Valley and Wenzhou Innovation Center to provide "multi-round, all-round, one-on-one" counseling, industrial exchanges, investment, and financing docking, and other "nanny-style" services for the landing of participating projects; excellent projects that have landed also have the opportunity to directly obtain a number of value-added services such as venture capital and rent-free space.

Competition Timeline

• Project selection (Time: June 20 - July 30)

Program application requires filling out the competition entry form and submitting a business plan in PPT format.

• Project review (Time: July 31 - September 30)

Preliminary competition: Comprehensive review of the business model, market strategy, management team, financial risks and control, and development prospects and planning of the participating projects.

Semi-final: Comprehensive review of the technical prospects, industry market, core team, financial analysis, and comprehensive benefits and willingness to land in Wenzhou of the participating projects.

Project optimization: Provide online one-to-one coaching and optimization suggestions for high-quality projects, including core concepts, team conditions, financial conditions, profit forecasts, market development vision, etc., and propose targeted revisions to business plans.

Communication and research: For enterprises/projects that meet the industry requirements of Lucheng and have the intention of landing, carry out online communication or field visits, provide one-to-one services such as landing guidance and policy consultation, and organize enterprises to visit Lucheng to learn about Lucheng's overall situation, industrial planning, industrial layout, investment promotion policies, talent support, and other policies.

• Final (Time: expected in mid-October)

Companies that enter the final come to Lucheng to participate in the final. Through the project roadshow and review and defense, combined with the willingness of the project to land, the expert jury will select 3 first prizes, 5-second prizes, 10 third prizes, and 12 superior projects. An on-site award ceremony will be held after the final.
