More information on the book can be found here: http://robertboog.com
This is the second book Boog has authored on Shakespeare. This book was written to focus on bipolar disorder issues regarding the discussion of William Shakespeare’s authorship. There is also particular excitement about this launch because it promises to end all the rumors of “other” authors and controversy regarding who wrote the Shakespeare canon.
Shakey’s Madness: Does a Mental Disorder Reveal the “Real” William Shakespeare? sets its main focus on two questions. One: if the “real” author was a nobleman, why would he give away his masterpieces to a commoner? Two: Was there a massive conspiracy to hide the “real” author’s secret?. The book’s cover art was created by the author himself and Shakey’s Madness: Does a Mental Disorder Reveal the “Real” William Shakespeare is being released by ths international publishing.
Robert Boog has a background in asking dumb questions about mysteries. A graduate of UCLA with a BA in British literature, he studied Shakespeare in college and always wondered if the “real” author worked in London, which is 100 miles away from Stratford-upon-Avon, why there are no letters ever found that were written by Shakespeare? He worked in London for 20 years but no letters written by him or to him from any friends have ever been found. Also, Shakespeare’s wife and youngest daughter were illiterate.
When asked about why he wrote the book, Boog said: “After hearing actor Patrick Stewart reading a Shakespeare sonnet on Twitter, I began to wonder about the “real” author’s mental health. Why did he sound so depressed? Was there a mental health reason?”
Boog has hopes that the book will inspire readers to investigate the mystery of Shakespeare’s authorship as research bipolar disorder and learn how it affects so many young people. How the “real” author managed to deal with mental illness and keep a positive outlook is certainly a testament to his inner strength. His optimism considering some of the mishaps during its creation. At one point a beta reader told me I should stop writing this book because I was trying to rewrite history. But I realized that I could never change what has already happened. Perhaps people nowadays might be more sympathetic to an imperfect author: one who had endured a mysterious mental illness.
In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking John S. a psychiatrist who did not laugh when I sent him an early draft of my book. Even though he said he was a die-hard Stratford fan, he encouraged me to complete the draft, do more research and get the book published. Also, for her part in the creation of the book, I would like to publicly acknowledge my wife, so: “Thank you, Roxana, for giving me space to write this book and putting up with my demands for healthy living: instead of drinking coffee, something more healthy like orange juice.
